Walden Course 6, week 7 discussion

I think one of the most heated yet important debates in our history, is on global warming. Even with the world's leading scientists coming out and saying it is no longer a debate but a fact, there are still many people who do not believe global warming is happening. This is due to 2 reasons pointed out in this weeks reading: fabricated or meaningless numbers and misinformation. If you want to confuse someone, tell enough lies and they will not know when someone is telling the truth and will lump all facts together as potentially false. Some of the misinformation has been done by people opposed to climate warming with poorly constructed experiments, but most of the confusion is purposely created by people who have a vested interest in people not believing global warming is happening. When a story comes out now that is 100% accurate, people do not know if it is true or not. Almost all scientific periodical stories on global warming state it is happening, yet the common newspaper does not. Here is an article as an example of disinformation
